Roslindale - The passenger in a car that crashed into Café Rialto on Washington Street on Aug. 8 was taken by ambulance to a hospital complaining of lower right leg pain, police said.
The driver told police that she lost control of her Chevy Cavalier, drove over a median strip and crashed into the café at 4197 Washington St., police said.
The accident, which occurred at approximately 7:02 a.m., dislodged a fire hydrant, uprooted and crushed plantings on the median strip and knocked out bricks at the café’s entrance, police said.
After the crash the passenger was sent to Faulkner Hospital for further medical treatment. The driver said she did not want medical treatment, police said.
The car, which was inoperable, was towed away shortly after the accident occurred.
